Chess 4 Fun

For teachers new to chess. All attendees will receive a free chess set. Students will get free use of which is ideal for kids really "into chess".Ideal for Teachers (and kids) who’ve never played chess before.

  • Treasure Hunt (Maths Game using chess pieces).
  • Ideal for wet days.
  • Play fun Cat n’ Mouse & Total Wipeout games.
  • Small building blocks. Each game teaches a new skill.
  • Finish with a chess Jamboree.

Course Details:

Each course will comprise 3 x 45-minute webinars.

Dates and Times: 5:00-5:45 pm, Wednesdays, 7th , 14th , 21st October.

Wellbeing Webinar - 11/2 hour

Creating a safe space in an unsafe world - the trauma informed classroom.

 This course is aimed at teachers, SNAs and other staff returning to schools  post lockdown. It is also relevant to staff working with children who have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) or  other trauma. It looks at the body-brain connection and the impact of stress anxiety and trauma/traumatic experience on teaching and learning. It offers practical ideas for schools, classrooms and individuals (staff and students) to support mental health and well being on our return to school and beyond.The course is delivered by Marie Byrne a teacher and child and adolescent psychotherapist
