Dr Jen O’Sullivan will look at how, as teachers, we can identify children who are struggling to acquire crucial foundational reading skills.
We will also investigate early literacy screeners and the important part they play in helping to prevent future reading difficulties.
Dr Jen will examine early interventions that can be implemented to support young children struggling to learn to read.
Bio:
Dr Jen O’Sullivan is a lecturer in literacy education in Marino Institute of Education. She is an executive committee member and past president of the Literacy Association of Ireland. As a Fulbright Scholar, she spent three months researching at the Florida Center for Reading Research
